Ideally, the simplicity of how solar panels convert heat and light energy into electricity would transfer into the actual installation of the system. We can’t speak for other companies, but that is exactly the case for us. Our team has spent years carefully going through every step of our process, and discussing ways on how we can make it more efficient.
The result is a ten-step process that breaks down each phase of the installation. We’ve cut out all of the red tape that commonly plagues these procedures. This provides customers with the actual instructions they need to know in order to get their own solar panel system up and running.
The Canopy Difference
Most of these efforts come from the fact that we go out of our way to provide clients with custom solar panel systems. We never design the same system twice, as every one caters to the specific dimensions and needs of the property and its homeowners. This maximizes the effectiveness of the system, as well as allows the design team to apply changes that would provide clients with even more savings.
All of our efforts won’t count for anything if no one knows about them, though, so we’ve outlined the entire process here. The linear timeline of the procedure includes ten steps that cover everything that our installation team needs to do in order to get the solar panel system a particular property needs.
A Complete Accounting
It all begins with the inspection of the property itself. Our team receives plenty of questions regarding the cost of installing a system for their home or business on a daily basis. The fact of the matter is, we can only give people a general estimate until we actually see the place.
Our goal is to be as efficient as the systems we install, so we always aim to have all the information you need to know once we sit with our clients and talk about what needs to be done. In addition to our recommendations, we’ll include the reasons for each of them, and a detailed description of what the system will ultimately look like. But, more importantly, we’ll list all the costs – down to the last penny.
Effective and Efficient Work
Once we settle all the requirements and details, our team will order the necessary materials and get started on the project. This is the easiest part of the entire process, as all our clients have to do is sit back while we do our thing. All we need to know is when it’s most convenient for us to begin.
With an average of 45 days between the first visit and the final systems check, Canopy Energy has one of the fastest completion times in the industry. But, our partners can rest assured that we don’t compromise the quality of our work just to meet this average. Whenever our teams install a system, they do it right the first time, rendering any additional visits unnecessary.
Turning on the Solar
We can’t turn the system on just yet, though. This is an energy system, which means it needs to connect to the grid. This needs to happen in order for the government to account for the energy the property generates, and for the homeowners to take advantage of the federal rebates. But, our clients don’t have to worry about this part of the process, either.
Canopy Energy will take care of the pertinent paperwork, and submit them to the local utility once we’re satisfied with the health of the system. We’ll have to wait for the utility company to approve a Permission to Operate (PTO). The waiting time for the approval can vary as each municipality has its own timeline in processing these documents. But, once we attain this necessary document, we can turn on the system and start saving on your monthly bill.
Getting your own solar energy system is easier than it’s ever been, and anyone can follow the process with no problem. Never get intimidated by jargon and the technical side of the installation again. Contact us today for more information on how you can start saving with solar energy as soon as possible.
